The first time we visited Elyse in Napa Valley was 2013, the year this wine was picked! We went to elyse with a couple other friends and tasted through several of the Elyse wines. This winery is a very delightul, quaint establishment. Their wines are all meticulously made. They do several blended wines but also have a variety of single varietal and single vineyard wines.

Elyse has been farming the Morisoli vineyard since 1986. The vineyard produces both Cabernet and Zinfandel and both are tremendous! The 2013 Morisoli Zinfandel is a fantastic wine. Zinfandel is a big fruity, juicy grape. Lots of big ripe jammy flavors. This particular zinfandel does not disappoint. Dark ripe cherries, dried cherries, chocolate, spices, leather, and more. This wine is luscious and ripe. It pairs well with smoked meats!

Open the bottle and decant. Give it 30 minutes of air and enjoy!

Vineyard Notes
Morisoli Vineyard is located in the heart of the Rutherford Bench, between Niebaum and Manley Lanes, at the base of Mount Saint John. This area has a worldwide reputation for producing complex, distinctive and age worthy wines. The unique terroir consists of well-drained, light, dusty, gravelly soil that produces grapes with vibrant flavor and impeccable balance. The resulting wines express equal parts power and finesse. This historic vineyard has been meticulously farmed by the Morisoli family for over a century. Each year, since 1986, we have been fortunate to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from this very special place in Napa Valley.
