What’s in a Traditional English Breakfast?

We’ve taken that formula and elevated it with Old Major favorites for a breakfast that’s rich in flavor and tradition.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 Old Major English Bangers
  • 4 slices Old Major Black Pudding
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon Old Major Bacon
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups baked beans (canned or homemade)
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, halved
  • 8 cremini mushrooms, halved or quartered
  • 4 slices crusty bread (like sourdough or bloomer)
  • Butter (for cooking and toast)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: HP Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or ketchup

Instructions

1. Warm the Oven & Beans

Preheat your oven to 200°F and keep it ready to hold items as they finish cooking. Warm your beans on the stove over low heat.

2. Cook the Bangers and Bacon

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Old Major English Bangers and cook slowly for 12–15 minutes, turning often. Transfer to the warm oven. Then, cook Old Major Traditional Bacon until your desired crispness and move it to the oven.

3. Sauté the Mushrooms and Tomatoes

Add butter to the skillet, then toss in mushrooms. Cook until golden brown (about 5 minutes), seasoning with salt and pepper. Sear tomatoes, cut side down, until softened and caramelized. Keep warm in the oven.

4. Crisp the Black Pudding

In a clean or wiped skillet, cook Old Major Black Pudding over medium heat in butter or oil—2–3 minutes per side. You want a crispy exterior and a creamy center.

5. Fry the Eggs and Toast the Bread

Fry eggs to your liking in butter or bacon fat. Toast the bread slices or pan-fry them in butter for extra flavor.

Time to Plate

On each plate, serve:

  • 1 English banger
  • 1 slice black pudding
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 fried egg
  • 1 scoop baked beans
  • Half a tomato
  • A handful of mushrooms
  • 1 slice buttered toast

Don’t forget the HP Sauce or Worcestershire for that final British touch.

Pro Tip: Fry your bread in bacon drippings for maximum indulgence. You’re welcome.
